January Favorites

Hi guys
I know it's been a really long time since I've blogged and it sucks to say, but life really did get in the way of something that I'm really passionate about :/
But today, I wanted to celebrate the new year by showing you some of my favorite things this winter season! These are pieces that I have worn over and over and I love that they're comfortable and versatile. I'm a sucker for oversized and slouchy sweaters and this one was a total score at Express! (Express always has great deals and I got this for 40% off!) This one is fun because it has an exposed detail in the back so I layered it with a lace bralette underneath. It was unusually warm the day that I wore the sweater and I was grateful that it wasn't a long sleeve! My leggings mock the criss cross look and they dress up (or down) any outfit I put together; I wore them out one night with a bodysuit and I was ready to party! My bag is literally my 'mom' bag. I got it on sale at H&M last summer and it's still available on their site :) It's a mess right now but it's a perfectly good house for my lipsticks haha!! Also, my Vans have been EVERYTHING these past two months! I normally wear my Nike free runs when I'm out and about but these kicks make any outfit timeless. They're just as comfortable as my Converse and although I'm not a 'skater girl', they give me a chill vibe ☮
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend! I made sure to show you some more favorites below!

Battle of the Primers

Benefit Cosmetics the Porefessional // Smashbox Photo Finish // NYX Cosmetics Angel Veil // Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer

I know I've been MIA lately, but I am happy and excited to tell y'all that I have all kinds of new things to share with you and I'm coming back with a vengeance! Today, I wanted to share a quick review of a few of my favorite face primers for normal to oily skin types. Now granted, there are tons of other primers out there but these four just so happen to be some of my favorites and have worked well for my skin type! For those that get oily and shiny throughout the day, I recommend using Benefit's Porefessional primer and the Make Up For Ever Base Mattifying primer. They will keep your face matte, making for a smooth makeup application and prevent too much oil from seeping through your foundation. The consistency of Make Up For Ever's primer is nice because it gets tacky at first but it sets quickly and mattifies your face completely! I especially like to concentrate the primers in my T-Zone area as that is where I tend to get the oiliest. Smashbox Photo Finish primer and NYX's Angel Veil are two of my most favorite primers because they make my face extremely smooth and prep my skin for foundation. They're both silicone based, non-greasy and oil free and quite hydrating in my opinion so they'd be perfect for those with normal to dry or mature skin. They smooth out any fine lines and fill in any enlarged pores you may have as well! While each of these primers have different properties and serve different purposes, I've found that they still do the job of keeping my face matte and keep my makeup in place! And good news; NYX's Angel Veil and Benefit's Porefessional are under $20, whereas Smashbox and Make Up For Ever primers range between $37-42! I'm always looking for the best face primers for normal to oily skin so please let me which are your favorites in the comments below! Also, which of these four do y'all like the most?!

Y'all, I am more than excited to talk about this amazing brand I discovered while on Instagram a few weeks ago! Anarchy Street brings us current jewelry and accessory trends and I knew right away that I had to make an order with them and give them a try. I think accessorizing makes all of the difference when it comes to Fashion and sometimes, it doesn't even have to be about JUST jewelry. When I want to play up an outfit, I'll throw on a printed scarf, add a bright bag, or even a make a ribbon choker to make my outfit stand out even more. Anarchy Street provide a variety of fashion jewelry, personalized jewelry, accessories such as handbags, fun phone cases and flash tattoos and to be quite frank, their entire vibe stood out to me and I fell in love.
And even if you're not big on jewelry or you're hesitant to venture out and take a fashion risk, Anarchy Street want to help you take that first step with their Anarchist Box! It's not a subscription service (you can cancel at anytime) but they do have stylists that help analyze your fashion preferences and provide you with three different pieces that suite you the most based off of your style profile.
I purchased the Opulent Stone Ring set before I joined their affiliate team to become a representative and I can be 100% honest and happy to say that I am very pleased with my purchase and VERY excited that I can share this amazingly cool brand with all of you! The rings were very great quality and each ring is unique and beautiful. I was also able to leave a note before I made my purchase and I asked that they send me the smallest size possible so that they were a perfect fit and they did just that! Please let me know if you decide to check them out and enjoy 10% off your entire purchase (with free shipping!) using my code JUSTINA10 Have a great one

Winter Feels

This winter season definitely calls for a turtleneck dress! I am particularly loving this one from Forever 21; it was fairly inexpensive and even though it was freezing outside, I survived without a coat because it was surprisingly thick yet not uncomfortably heavy! I chose a monochromatic palette, but only because 95% of my wardrobe consists of mostly black clothing and I personally think that black can make any outfit chic and effortless :) I've also been rockin' the hell out of these combat booties I got on clearance at my local Target right before Christmas and it turns up the style of this sweet dress! Thankfully with this turtleneck I didn't need to layer with a scarf (although it would have looked great with one!) so I kept it simple with a satchel and these awesome, matte black sunnies by Quay from Urban Outfitters.

Current Skincare Routine

A lot of people ask me about my skin care routine and this is probably one of the most highly requested posts I've been asked to do. Thank goodness for yall, my daily routine is fairly simple and does not require the use of a handful of products! I've mentioned before that I have normal to oily skin, but rarely do I experience any breakouts, and just maybe a few blemishes here and there. Before cleansing my face, I'll use makeup remover wipes to breakdown my eye makeup as I don't want to rub at my eyes too much and I've found these Target brand ones to work effectively! The Neutrogena cleanser I've been using for this last month or so is very gentle and does not irritate my skin, it's also oil free and paraben free. After cleansing, I'll apply this toner by Kueshi that I absolutely love and have re-purchased to balance out my PH levels and hydrate my skin. Lastly, I will use a facial emulsion to further moisturize my face and this just sinks right in and instantly brightens my skin. Every morning, I'll use the same cleanser just to freshen my face and I'll dab on this Benefit 'It's Potent!' eye cream before my daily moisturizer. It reduces any puffiness and smoothes out any under eye wrinkles and I swear it works miracles! I'm really happy with the results so far and I would definitely recommend any of these products to anyone interested in giving them a try!
*Disclaimer: I couldn't find the exact products that I use but I show some options below that are fairly similar, and one's that I've used in the past and have worked for my skin!
I do exfoliate about twice a week to get rid of any dead skin, and I will use a clay mask every so often (Love the one's in packs found at Walmart!) to get deep into my pores and dry out any blemishes. *Use an old foundation brush to apply masks to avoid any mess! Also; Benefit Cosmetics has a travel sized b. Right Radiant Skincare set at Ulta for $24! You're welcome :)
